Very low radiation detected on US west coast-sources

Very low concentrations of radioactive particles believed to have come from Japan's Fukushima nuclear power plant have been detected on the U.S. west coast, diplomatic sources said on Friday.
The level of radiation was far too low to cause any harm to humans, they said.
I'd prefer to receive expert opinions on radiation levels from a toxicologist than a diplomat.

  1. I'm not sure that I agree with your expert opinions. So far, most of the "experts" wheeled out for comment are anti-nuclear war/energy advocates. Their take, on the reactor crisis is doom and gloom.

From my couch potato position, here's how I would currently score things:

    Crisis Lives Lost
    Earthquake 100's
    Tsunami 1000's
    Nuke Reactors 0's

    Check out Ann Coulter's Article....VERY insightful/inciteful.

  2. I'm pro-nuclear, esp. since the former Greenpeace founder is now also advocating nuclear power. But it has to be done safely--see the French. Having said that, the worst-case scenario obviously hasn't been modeled yet, because citizens WILL die with Japan's nuclear disaster, and there could be rising cases of cancer due to the radiation--globally.

Having said that, without nuclear power, $200 crude oil will be a reality, so they better figure it out.
